I often wondered where the term night cap comes from, a quick Google search yielded the answer. Transpires that night cap in the context of alcohol is a play on the original term: a sleeping hat worn at night to keep warm.

Although drinking alcohol before bed is not encouraged amongst sleep and health experts, the rebel in me counters this by declaring, ‘rules’ are made to be (occasionally) broken! So with rebellion in mind, try making Crystal Head Vodka’s Night Cap recipe. The option of garnishing with chocolate shavings makes it an ideal late Easter cocktail.

Ingredients:

1 1Ž2 oz. Crystal head Vodka

1Ž2 oz. Premium coffee liqueur

1 freshly brewed espresso shot

Chocolate shavings or coffee beans

How to mix:

Pour Crystal Head, coffee liqueur and espresso into a shaker filled with ice.

Shake vigorously to create froth then strain into a martini glass.

Garnish:

Chocolate shaving or finely Crushed coffee beans.

Enjoy!

Remember to always drink responsibly.
