Warm weather is so fleeting in this country that the pressure is on to rinse every nanosecond; typically parks and beaches are rammed full of desperate sun-seekers making the most of the increasingly absent, sunshine. Last week we were blessed with the type of balmy temperatures that our Mediterranean brethren take for granted, what I would have given to spend those three precious days at Praaloha, a newly –furbished, stylish beach house situated in Praa Sands, South West Cornwall.

Praaloha is a luxurious home-from-home with its spectacular sea views, five large bedrooms, five bathrooms, two sitting rooms, two kitchens, a spacious garden and its own detached pool house with a bar, overlooking a private 15-metre heated outdoor pool. Throughout the property, floor to ceiling windows allow guests to enjoy the panoramic vistas across the beautiful bay.Copyright 2015 Chetwode Ram AssociatesDC20160120_Aspects_Praaloha-24

As gorgeous as Praaloha is, you may be tempted to remain within the confines of this stunning property, however if you can drag yourself away, take a stroll to Praa Sands Beach, where you can spend time at the laid-back pub, the surf school, eat a light meal at the café and visit the local shop to stock up on Cornish produce. Alternatively, walk along the plunging cliffs and jagged rocks of the South West Coast Path. If you fancy travelling further afield, visit the renowned Victoria Inn at Perranuthnoe or The Falmouth Packet Inn – both serving delicious local food. Keen golfers can play at Praa Sands Golf & Country Club, and there’s always Pengersick Castle for budding historians and ghost hunters: it is believed to be one of the most haunted locations in Cornwall.

After either a chilled day at the beach or eventful day of sightseeing, you have an evening at Praaloha to look forward to; make the most of the stylish pool house – complete with a built-in drinks bar, and the 15-metre heated swimming pool, set within the property’s secluded gardens overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Fire up the barbecue or mix up a cocktail or two, while watching the sun set beneath the waves from one of the comfy loungers. Or, slide into the water and swim a few lengths, listening to the soothing sounds of the sea.Copyright 2015 Chetwode Ram Associates. DC20160120_Aspects_Praaloha-18
