Ring in the New Year with the Gordon Ramsay Group

For stylish dining a visit to one of acclaimed celebrity chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant is an ideal way of ringing in the New Year.

Where? The Savoy Grill, The StrandInterior at The Savoy Grill

Great for:  A nice pre-firework display meal. Head Chef Kim Woodward will be serving a three –course supper between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm (£55 per guest).

Alternatively if dining later is preferred then the seven – course set dinner (£200 per guest) complete with views of the firework display in one of The Savoy’s suites, is a good option.

Edible highlights:

Three –course supper: French onion soup with Vintage Comté cheese croûte; Roast monkfish with spinach and brown shrimps in a caper butter sauce; Toffee apple mille feuille.

Seven –course set meal: Roast pumpkin velouté with ricotta dumpling; Cornish crab stuffed sole with Florentine and parsley breadcrumbs; Beef Wellington with truffle mash potatoes and Bordelaise sauce; Chestnut, chocolate and coffee Opera cake.

Great for: The 10 – course tasting menu (£185 per guest) curated by Head Chef Neil Snowball, expect a veritable Michelin –starred feast.

Edible highlights: 36-month Parmesan linguine with Alba truffle; Fresh herb-infused beef tea; Cornish turbot with Périogord truffle chowder; Cassis jelly with Champagne granite.

Rum cocktails at Rudie’s

Great for:  Reggae, rum and plenty of fun.

Just £10 gains you access to the guest list for Rudie’s Bashy – there is an entry fee from 11pm, a big party JA style with a booming sound track and ‘Bruckout cocktails:’ the finest Appleton VX rum with Chambord, pineapple juice, lime and sugar. 

Edible highlights:

Expect a scrumptious NYE set menu for an affordable £35 (includes a glass of Prosecco). Dishes include: Curry duck and cassava dumplings; Caramelised jerk pork cheek with mango reduction and watercress; Spiced Appleton rum cake with salted caramel sauce.

Great for:  Modern French Mediterranean cuisine and the exclusive five – course taster menu (£145),  an excellent introduction to Head Chef Luke Payet’s genius.

Edible highlights:

Lobster & pheasant pot with scented mandarin; Chestnut & enoki mushrooms; Charcoal grill fillet of beef; Crispy shallot crust & purée; Pistachio ice cream & cinnamon marshmallow.

Dinner with a firework view

Where? Columbia Restaurant, DoubleTree by Hilton London Docklands Riversideimage

Great for: A front row view of the New Year’s firework display while cruising down the Thames. Live music and flutes of champagne should make for a fab party atmosphere.

Edible highlights:

A lavish four –course meal (£249 per person) includes Champagne and canapés on arrival, along with half a bottle of wine and complimentary river cruise.
