A CULINARY craze is taking off in the UK which involves putting spoonfuls of grass-fed butter like Kerrygold into your morning coffee.
Called ‘Bulletproof Coffee,’ it started as a low-key health kick for a small minority. The benefits are phenomenal, with weight loss, protection against fatigue, speedier metabolism and antioxidants to name but a few.

He added: “Kerrygold cows are not given antibiotics or growth hormones. Kerrygold doesn’t use pesticides in their pastures. Irish dairy cows graze outdoors on grass all day long for up to 312 days a year. In fact, Irish cows graze on grass for longer than almost every country in the world.”
Irish dairy farmers famously do not use mechanical irrigation systems like other countries, as Ireland is swept by Atlantic rain carrying water, which is pure and unpolluted and provides natural irrigation.
Aficionados say Bulletproof Coffee is hot, frothy and creamy – much like drinking a latte, only more buttery.

How to make a Bulletproof Coffee
- Brew your coffee to your preferred coffee method, with water just off the boil, and 2 ½ heaped tablespoons of freshly ground coffee.
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of Kerrygold Unsalted Butter.
- Pour in 1-2 tablespoons Brain Octane Oil (or high-grade coconut oil).
- Mix in a blender until the Kerrygold Unsalted Butter and coconut oil are emulsified. The coffee should be frothy and look like a creamy latte.
