Congratulations to IZBERG Marketplace who have successfully raised 1.5 million euros with independent, Paris based venture capitalists, Alven Capital. IZBERG Marketplace formerly known as Iceberg Marketplace were first featured last June, this recent funding round will be integral to IZBERG’s overall growth, Benoit Feron, who founded the brand along with Florian Poullin and Luc Falempin, tells me how this funding will benefit the business:

“Overall, the purpose of this funding is to accelerate the growth and our international expansion. We will also increase the size of the team by adding new talent – tech, sales and support.”

‘Iceberg’ Marketplace was pretty well established as a marketplace platform used by e-merchants, and retailers to digitize sales along with media sites looking to monitize its mobile application or site via the use of a multi –vendor e-commerce solution, is a change of name wise? Benoit explained the reasons behind re-branding:

“Concerning the change of name, the point was to find a name that would allow us to develop our company abroad easily. Iceberg is a common name that has been used extensively in many countries, thus we wanted to find a unique name. That’s why we switched to IZBERG, and launched a new website along with new branding.”

Having an existing, viable business model along with being market leaders are attractive attributes for investors, Alven Capital, Investment Director Raffi Kamber, says:

“The ability of the IZBERG Marketplace team to offer its clients the most complete and progressive technical solution on the market attracted us immediately, especially since they are operating in a sector that is growing rapidly.”

There is no doubt that Benoit, Florian and Luc, who with the support of Alven Capital, will continue to make their business a success, the plan for global expansion, the creation of new jobs and technical advancement are all contributing factors.

Well done guys!
