Whoever said that size doesn’t matter is not aware of the gourmet sandwich revolution, about to descend on the capital. Purveyors of accessible, gourmet street food, Street Kitchen have graduated to a permanent space in the foodie hub of Broadgate Circle and their USP will be the serving of gourmet sandwiches by –the-inch! Yes, you read that correctly. Mark Jankel (The Food Initiative) and Jun Tanaka (formerly of Pearl) are behind this unique new service whereby sandwiches will be measured against vintage yardsticks for unique cut-to-size ordering.

Street Kitchen plan to offer carefully sourced fast food from Monday through to Friday. On the menu, a selection of bespoke breads: focaccia, pita, challah, rye and brioche filled with seasonal, ingredients, signature sandwiches include: organic broccoli with free-range eggs, smoky mustard mayo, pickled red onions and old Winchester cheese, rare roast beef with caramelised onions, watercress, pickled cucumber and horseradish.

Options such as Grab-and-go salad boxes and hot sandwiches will also be on the menu, choose from: hot smoked salmon with pickled beetroot, red cabbage and dill – available all day, while specials like salt beef on rye and lobster rolls will be served exclusively in the evenings.

With the weather warming up, enjoy your gourmet sandwich al fresco on the shops’ terraces, washed down with chilled sparkling English wine or craft beer. If you prefer to quench your thirst with non –alcohol beverages choose from: freshly-squeezed juices, natural soft drinks such as Karma Cola, teas from Mangajo Green Teas and daily-roasted artisan coffee by AllPress.
